AACON General Contractors is seeking experienced, driven, and results-oriented Traveling Construction Superintendents to lead federal construction projects throughout the United States.

What You'll Do

As a Traveling Superintendent, you'll serve as AACON's primary on-site representative, providing leadership and oversight from project mobilization through completion.

• Direct and manage daily construction operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trades, vendors, and field personnel.
• Maintain project schedules, monitor progress, and proactively address potential delays.
• Implement and enforce site-specific safety requirements, OSHA regulations, and EM 385-1-1 standards.
• Oversee quality control procedures, inspections, and compliance with contract specifications.
• Coordinate with federal contracting representatives, inspectors, project managers, and other stakeholders.
• Manage daily reports, RFIs, submittals, and required project documentation.
• Support implementation of the Quality Control Plan and Accident Prevention Plan.
• Identify challenges, develop solutions, and maintain clear communication with AACON's project management and operations teams.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of commercial or federal construction experience, with proven superintendent-level leadership.
• Experience managing subcontractors, schedules, field operations, and construction quality.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, scheduling, and project documentation.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements and construction safety practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel nationwide for assigned projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Federal construction experience with agencies such as the VA, USACE, NAVFAC, or DoD.
• OSHA 30 or OSHA 500 certification.
• USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM) certification.
• Working knowledge of EM 385-1-1.
• Experience with Procore or comparable construction management software.
• Experience managing RFIs, submittals, inspections, and federal quality control documentation.
• Active Secret Security Clearance.
